Our community coffee morning is back for the autumn, and everyone is welcome.
Every Wednesday from 10am until midday, the hall at Manor Park Methodist Church fills with the sound of laughter, the clink of teacups and the smell of freshly baked cake.
The coffee morning began as a small gathering for a handful of church members. Today it welcomes dozens of people from across the neighbourhood, many of whom live alone and value the chance to spend a morning in good company.
Something for everyone
There is no charge and no need to book. Simply come along, pour yourself a drink and pull up a chair. Volunteers are on hand to welcome newcomers, and there is always a table of games, puzzles and newspapers for those who prefer a quieter corner.
Parents and carers with young children are especially welcome, and a small play area is set up each week.
